The ORCA Group (ORCA Affairs, ORCA Campaign, ORCA van Loon, ORCA an der Isar, ORCA Selected) has had a successful 2019. This is also reflected in the renowned Pfeffer PR-Ranking 2019: out of 138 participating agencies across Germany, the ORCA Group has ranked 13th place in the overall ranking and is thus 14 places further ahead than in the previous year (27th place).
The ranking, initiated by PR Journal, takes into account all agencies that submitted information on annual revenue as well as on the employee development in 2019 in February and March 2020. With its outstanding annual balance sheet for 2019, the ORCA Group is currently even in the 4th place in the Hamburg comparison (13th place last year).
Total revenue of 13.2 million euros in the financial year of 2019
"2019 was the best year since day one of our existence as a group," Michael T. Schröder, Managing Principal Partner of ORCA Affairs and spokesman for the ORCA Group, summed up at the beginning of the year. With a total turnover of 13.2 million euros in the 2019 financial year, the group was able to increase by 116% compared to the previous year. The agencies owe this extraordinary development not only to exciting new business developments, such as the framework contract for public measures in the Kaufhaus des Bundes (KdB), but also to the improved cooperation between the offices in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich.
Looking ahead to 2020 with mixed feelings - but thoroughly optimistic
The importance of this cohesion is particularly evident in the current situation with which the entire industry is struggling. "We are looking ahead to 2020 with mixed feelings, of course. We have to implement many projects differently to what we had planned initially and many of our customers are also going through periods of great uncertainty" explains Hendrik Schulze van Loon, Managing Director of ORCA van Loon Communications. "But we are a team driven by action. That's why we make the best out of the situation and try to see it as an opportunity across all our locations." Michael T. Schröder goes on to comment on the current situation: "Of course, we are also affected by the current changes and restrictions as a result of COVID-19." But what I already emphasized at the beginning of this year is all the more relevant now: We are full of optimism and concerning our expertise optimally positioned. Therefore I am very confident that we will also be able to master this crisis of unknown proportions by joining forces. After all, flexibility is in our DNA as communications agencies. Hence, we are looking forward to continuing our success story this year to the best of our abilities and to support all our clients with advice, action and the best communications services, even in times of crisis.
